Anyone who has seen big budget blockbusters like Elysium or Edge Of Tomorrow will have seen this metal exoskeleton suits being used to help save the world, but versions of these suits are now available to the public for far more heartwarming causes. The Re-Walk bionic suit is being designed to help those with spinal cord injuries to stand, walk and ascend/descend stairs with minimal assistance, and just recently, the big government body FDA (the US Food and Drug Administration) finally gave the suit it’s blessing after some rigorous testing of its durability and safety.
Of course, they won’t come cheap, with these early versions costing around $70,000 for their users, but we imagine once they become more steadily supplied and more readily available, that cost should come down significantly.
