It’s been announced that Microosft has bought Yammer, the Enterprise Social Network service provider. Yammer is a Social Media Network – for bsinesseses. It allows collaboration and publishing within companies on their own ‘prvate social network’ – no less social, and more working. It has an array of alliances with tools that can be connected or embedded with Yammer – allowing integration through a variety of plug-ins from other social and productivity tools.
Despite signaling Microsoft embracing a social media strategy, reaction is mixed, with some analystst commenting Microsoft should have bought this site two years ago. This announcement, hinted at a week ago by CNBC and Bloomberg, comes shortly after Microsoft announced their Surface tablet, their challenger to Apple in the tablet arena.
