Tech analysts Jefferies & Co have released a 68-page report suggesting that Apple’s first overture into the automobile industry will have a price point of around a whopping $55,000, but that they also don’t believe it will have deleterious effects on sales due to its brand awareness.
While immediate competitors Tesla have been making a show of downplaying any threat to their primacy in the industry, the analysts predict sales of 200,000 yearly units for for any Apple car that comes on to the market, dwarfing the yearly sales enjoyed by Elon Musk’s electric car, currently standing at around 50,000 vehicles a year.
Other predictions don’t surprise, such as a wide array of different colourways and designs, including vastly more expensive options for the discerning millionaire. Let’s hope the options include the worm-in-an-apple affair so beloved in the Busytown series of childrens’ books, which really would be priceless.
