If you remember, a few years back there was a bit of war (well, maybe war is a bit of a strong word, we don’t think there were any battles or people died or anything, although we can neither confirm nor deny any of that) between the two new types of TV set: LCD vs Plasma. As it turned out, over time, that while Plasma TVs may have been technologically superior, LCD was cheaper to produce, and also much cheaper to update. To that end, Samsung, the very last producer of Plasma TVs, have officially called it quits on production of these types of television sets.
Samsung have announced that they’ll be solely focusing on the curved HDTVs as well as the 4K sets from this point on, so anyone looking to get their hands on a plasma TV before they completely run dry had better get a move on sharpish!
