Top Gift Gadget Ideas For Your Guy This Valentine's Day

We all know just how notoriously difficult it can be to buy a gift for the guy who has everything, but this year, look no further! We’ve selected four top gift gadgets, making the daunting task of being original when it comes to gift buying that little bit easier!

FUZ Designs Noke Bluetooth Padlock

FUZ Designs have been busy working on their latest eccentric device; Noke which is being touted as “the smartest padlock ever made”. The guys at FUZ know just how easy it is to lose a set of keys or forget a combination code so by simply pairing your Noke padlock to a personal mobile device with the Noke app, your guy will be able to access his possessions securely. When unlocking Noke, he can simply press the lock which will then search for her phone or a shared device, and, if his device is within a few feet of the lock it will open – pretty nifty ay?

Atlas Wristband

If your guy is into fitness then this is most definitely the gadget for him. Atlas goes above and beyond anything we’ve mentioned before when it comes to fitness gadgets. Well, it claims to at least. The tagline “the first fitness tracker” may not be precisely true but it does do some pretty cool things. It tracks calories burned and heart-rate but also captures data for advanced fitness and syncs all the stats via Bluetooth to your smartphone. We particularly love the specially curated programmes on the app which will help you lose weight, get toned or bulk up.

Luci Solar Lights by MPOWERD

These pocket sized inflatable solar lights by MPOWERD collapse to one inch and weigh less than thirty grams. They can give up to twelve hours of bright, clean light without the need for electricity or batteries which certainly makes them an ideal gadget to take along on a hike or other outdoor adventure as a nifty little emergency sidekick. The clever little lights double up as the perfect campsite or garden party accessory, so you can steal it for yourself from time to time! They can be set to one of eight colours and also feature a colour changing mode – exactly what any outdoor party needs!

Tomorrow's open missal from Blackberry reminds me more of a fake letter that appeared in Chinese newspaper, The Southern Metropolis Daily a couple of months ago, and then found it's way around China via the micro-blogging Weibo.

NASA Game Changing 3D Printing success really matters

Last night I tweeted a link to the Press Release from NASA regarding their success with  testing a rocket engine injector made through additive manufacturing, or as we say these days,  3D printing. What surprised me was the reaction I got via re-Tweets, messages and people just saying 'wow!'. I think what caught people's attention was the potential highlighted by the success in NASA's test, the potential for manufacturing and for business.

Social Media: quality always tops quantity

In recent years I have had the privilege to speak at a number of different events on Social Media. Typically the area of greatest interest has always been Facebook. The same question always pops up during the Q&A part - “I don’t have a budget for Facebook, how do I get to 100,000 fans?” To be fair, there is not one answer to this question for every industry but I will try to give you an answer that should set you on the right path.
