While we’re still a little bit away from actually finding the virtual reality game headset Oculus Rift in every home, at the rate that the technology is developing, we can’t imagine that it’ll be much longer than five years or so before they become THE thing to have. Before then, games and tech developers are still scrambling to wrap any potential or upcoming projects around the Rift, and one of the gaps in the market was the virtual reality gun.
TrinityVR have created a Kickstarter program for their new handheld virtual reality weaponry, and considering that some of the biggest games that will come with the Oculus Rift headset are the likes of Doom, Quake and a lot of other first-person shooters, having a weapon to hand that obeys your body movements and aim, instead of still needing to us certain buttons on a keyboard, will make the entire experience much more immersive.
Anyone who donates to the program – and happens to have the Rift already to hand, lucky you! – will receive an early prototype of the Trinity Magum (coolest gun name ever) in September 2014. Everyone else will have to wait for the future to become now!
